Technical & Sales Area Manager (South-East Asia Region)

 JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Reports to the Regional Manager of Asia Pacific
  • Hierarchically reporting to the Regional Sales & Marketing Manager APAC, the candidate will be responsible for the sales of Water & Oil Performance Additives including phosphonates, phosphorus derivatives and polymers to new and existing customer base.
Responsibilities:
 
  • Proactively contributing to the Company and business development results by increasing sales performance and margins, identifying and attracting new clients and maintaining or reinforcing existing clients’ relationships in the assigned area;
  • Developing sales and market intelligence activities mainly focused on industrial water & process treatment industries and HI&I cleaning markets;
  • Managing pricing and negotiating contracts, both with end customers and distributors, consistently with the Business Unit sales policy;
  • Creating contacts, initiating calls and making technical sales presentations at all levels including upper management, purchasing, R&D, marketing and plant functions;
  • Applying a technical problem solving selling mode of “solution process and performance selling”;
  • Maintaining an excellent knowledge and understanding of specialty chemicals and water chemistry and applications;
  • Providing accurate forecasts, planning and reports to the Global Sale Force and Managers;
  • Ensuring constant sharing of market information with the Global Sale Force, including Technical Development Managers, Innovation, R&D and Application specialists; v Managing sample requests and customers claims.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Min. 3-5 years commercial experience in Specialty Chemical industry, or any other related industries - Water treatment, chemical cleaning, Personal Care and etc.
  • Related job experience in technical solution selling would be prioritised.
  • Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry
  • Proficiency in Chinese/Mandarin to handle Mandarin speaking client.
  • Equipped with good chemical and/or chemical engineering knowledge, good interpersonal relationship skill.
  • Experience in specialty chemical sales would be preferred.
  • Willingness to travel. Candidate is expected to travel at least 50% of the time.
